GoalSigma cameras are designed to capture the living world just as it is reflected in the human eye and to record the emotions of color in all their intensity.
PhilosophySimply put, it’s about purity. The sole motivation behind all aspects of Sigma cameras is in getting the most perfect end result photo. Sigma Cameras are designed to capture the perfect represen-tation of the photographer’s vision, the perfect outlet for creative expression and the perfect tool for capturing a moment, a feeling, a breathtaking view or a visual presentation of an idea. That’s why you’ll only find the traditional features steeped in the latest technology. Pure and simple. It’s all about creative control and the photograph.
Innovation and TechnologySigma’s own groundbreaking Foveon sensor is the newest technology. It is a direct image sensor that reproduces colors as faithfully as film as it captures all the color information in its three-layer technology, which other digital SLRs and digital compacts do not have. This same sensor is used in both our SLR and compact digital cameras. Sigma’s compact digital cameras have an advantage over other compact digitals whose sensors are between 7 to 12x smaller than our Foveon sensor and cannot reproduce color the way the Sigma Foveon sensor can. Only Sigma cameras can deliver a photograph with the richest, truest of colors.
DesignSigma cameras designs cameras that set you free to simply take great pictures. The photographer should be able to concentrate on the shot, which is why you won’t find any cumbersome operations and unnecessary extra functions or superfluous, complex features. What you will find is an intuitive user interface and a thoroughly refined camera with the basic performance that is capable of handling the most difficult shooting conditions. |
