From the textures of the wooden platter to those in the bread and crackers along with the organic nature of the radishes, recording color and detail were foremost considerations in choosing the SD1 and the 24-70 f/2.8 DG HSM zoom lens. I think of the SD1 as a very high quality medium format camera in a cropped sensor DSLR body. The results speak for themselves.

Inspiration/Description:
The goal of this photo was to make the viewer do a double-take. At first glance it would look like identical twins or perhaps clones. Upon closer inspection the viewer will realize that one of the models is a mannequin while the other is a 'real person'. I chose the SD1 for this project because a huge print sizes the viewer would be able to examine the differences between the two subjects. One would have skin detail and texture, while the other would have smooth, plastic skin. The SD1's amazing resolution would be able to capture this detail, along with the detail in the mesh dress. Furthermore, also capture detail in the reds and shadows of the photograph.

This image is all about color and texture. Whether the fine textures of the jacket, the detail on the glasses, or the threads of the dress, fine detail in texture was key. Furthermore, the rich and varied color tones also create visual interest. By using the SD1, I was able to enlarge the file to 3x4ft and large and still see beautiful detail in every texture as well as accurate color throughout.

Pinup photographs are back and thanks to Photoshop along with wonderful wide angle zooms like Sigmaes 24-70mm f/2.8, easily achievable. Model Gabrielle Rivera is lying down with her legs propped up on a light stand. The camera position is over the top of her head. At 24mm the lens stretches Gabriellees torso and elongates her legs creating the classic glamour pinup effect. I removed the light stand and background then converted it to black and white adding a warm tone effect to finish it off all in Photoshop.

Depending on which newspaper account you read, I arrived either the day before or the day after John Fales died. His memorial was held in the field behind the store. For this bridal shot I was lying on my stomach in the middle of a crowded sidewalk in the heart of New York City. I wanted to get a low angle to make the bride look like she towered above me, nearly as tall as the buildings. I also wanted to catch the movement of the NYC taxi passing by in the background (to give a sense of place and time).
Caption: This image was taken on a rooftop in NY. I had the model arch her back as if to catch and drink in the sunlight. I was careful to pose her in a way that flattered her curves and to give movement to the image.

Inspiration/Description:
This image was taken on a rooftop in NY. I had the model arch her back as if to catch and drink in the sunlight. I was careful to pose her in a way that flattered her curves and to give movement to the image.

Inspiration/Description:
I was hired by a record label to shoot promo shots for rapper "Fugi B". He gave mea variety of inspiration shots to shoot me the look he was going for. Some were dark and dramatic, but most were light and playful. For this image I used a silver dish reflector in the studio to give him defined light. In Photoshop I gave him two colored outlines to give the feeling of action and also to help make the image more playful.

Inspiration/Description:
Photographing fine art nudes is extremely rewarding for me as an artist. This photo was taking during one of my workshops. For the workshop I had a 15ft albino Python to pose again the beautiful dark skin of this model. For my exposure I had the challenge of balance two very different tones between the model and the snake.

This image I was experimenting with 'clam shell' lighting. I used a beauty dish slightly above the models face to create the main illumination on the model. I then used a small silver reflector dish below her chin to fill in the shadows. The result is this very light and glowing image.
