  • Junior Tech

    LOCATION: Ronkonkoma, NY

    TYPE: In-Office, Full Time, Non-Exempt

    The SIGMA Junior Tech will be responsible for assisting the Service
    Manager with the day-to-day operations of the service department as well as the successful
    coordination of incoming and outgoing inventory. This is a full-time, in-office position.


    RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Perform minor repairs of SIGMA products (cameras, still and cinema lenses)
    • Troubleshoot technical issues in accordance with client specifications
    • Evaluate incoming product and schedule service as necessary
    • Assist with examining and processing parts and product returns
    • Quality control product returns
    • Assist with service department receiving and shipping to facilitate on-time delivery of repairs to
    customers
    • Additional responsibilities as assigned


    QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
    • Experience with electronics and/or precision equipment repair
    • Familiarity with product testing, calibration and QC
    • Ability to work well under limited supervision
    • Basic computer and mathematical skills
    • Basic knowledge of inventory management
    • Works well under pressure
    • Great manual dexterity
    • Good vision
    • Mechanical aptitude
    • Excellent interpersonal skills
    • Ability to lift, carry or push up to 50 pounds
    • Camera/lens repair and photography experience is a plus
