I like using old industrial buildings that are abandoned for a lot of my customers. When I chose to use this location I wanted to showcase the surroundings to make the image more interesting and for this reason, I chose to use the 35mm lens. This image was shot at 2.8 1/2000 iso 100 35mm. The focal length of this lens is so unique because its in between wide and normal. I just love it when its hard to figure out what lens is being used. The sharpness and quality of this lens is amazing!

Description: I've been to this location to shoot countless times. Usually I'm hoping for a clear night and a good reflection, but this night there was ice like I've never seen before. I came back a couple days later to get more shots and it was all gone. There were thousands of gulls sitting on the ice, and since this is a long exposure only the one's that didn't move are visible. I never have to worry about sharpness or coma even in the corners with this lens. :)

Description: I was frustrated with bad weather, so I went out in the back yard and picked up a handful of fall leaves. Then brought them indoors, placed them on a table and shone a lamp on them. To add a bit more sparkle, I borrowed my wife's spray bottle. A session with Lightroom was all I needed to finish the picture.

Description: Half Dome in Yosemite Park with Nevada (top one) and Vernal Falls (slightly lower) visible. Although at night you can't see the falls from Glacier Point you can hear it. It's a distant roar to keep one company in the darkness. It was nice to have a night of photography with no real danger. The cliff here is steeper than it looks but I might not die if I toppled over the edge. The real issue is a miscalculation on my part of how far Glacier Point is from the east entrance. I thought I was there with plenty of time to spare, The drive took nearly 3 hours after driving 14 hours to get to the east entrance, tired was an understatement. Yosemite is huge, rugged yet I found it welcoming. The distant roar I found comforting. However the climber climbing Half Dome in the middle of the night (see dual headlamps at the left base of Half Dome has to be less comforted than I). The altitude is great for visibility and seeing the night sky. However some of the greenish and yellows come from light pollution from the major cities and valley of California. Almost all other photographers call this airglow but in this case (there is obviously some) its mostly deflected light pollution. The red to the north (left) might be a bit of aurora.

Description: I've owned this lense for a bit, my first test shot of this was a starlit sky in a crowded parking lot. This is my 2nd attempt at using it for this since I bought it. It's an amazing lense both in nature and in studio, if you're an enthusiast of the night sky this is a prime you should have in your bag. This is an unguided shot so there may be some blur.

Description: My kids love the sculpture garden at the North Carolina Museum of Art. This is a path that leads away from one of the exhibits. If you look closely at these trees, you'll find chairs hidden high in the branches. They're one of the exhibits too.

Description: I was doing some mini sessions of kiddos in a park and it started to rain so all the moms said it was ok for the kids to jump in puddles. I excitedly told this boy to "jump in" and he just couldn't bring himself to do it. Even after his mom gave him the go-ahead, he sat there, starting at the water. It looked like he was contemplating jumping from a cliff. Eventually he did jump in, but very hesitantly.

Description: Photographed at 3:00 am at the summit of Mount Carleton, New Brunswick, Canada on March 21, 2018. It was an ardueous and difficult 20km hike and snowshoe with a sled loaded with 80 lbs of gear with many unanticipated problems. There was very little wind on the trip in but it was a different story at the summit. It was very cold with high gusty winds. The four cables anchoring the fire spotting building at the summit is a testament to the high winds experienced here. The summit is the highest point in New Brunswick at 2260 feet.

Description: While driving in the early morning hours a bridge over the Saint Mary's river caught my eye. I stopped the car and climbed down the bank to get a better view. I arrived about 25 minutes before sunrise and there was mist above the water. I realized there would be a good photo opportunity once the sun broke the horizon and I was not disappointed. Description: While driving on a rural road in Nova Scotia, I spotted a mysterious object that seemed out of place, I got out of my car to investigate, and it turned out to be a large metal sculpture. Since it was dark I did not see any information on the story behind it or its creator. After a google search I discovered it was created by sculptor Helga Natz. Photographed on the morning of May 9, 2018 in Holland Harbor, Nova Scotia.

Description: Was having a food time at a beach side restaurant (in Goa, India) when this bold cat came and sat under my chair. When I looked at him, his fur was vibrant and his eyes were so striking I wanted to capture the moment before he ran away. This is were Sigma's 1.4 aperture helped me it clicking a clean image without upping my ISO. This is a JPEG image, right out of the camera! I use a basic Canon 1200D with this amazing lens.

Description: What a bonus the peak of the Geminid meteor shower and comet Wirtanen on the same night. Dubbed the Christmas comet by some, What better place to photograph the comet than a Christmas tree farm in Lunenburg County, Nova Scotia. In this image you can see two Geminid meteors, the distinctive blue colour of Comet Wirtanen and the Pleiades star cluster above the large tree. Photographed early Friday morning Dec. 14, 2018 as the comet was setting. This is a single 15 sec exposure, no photoshop composite trickery involved.
