Ronkonkoma, NY, Jan. 31 2012 – Sigma Corporation of America (www.sigmaphoto.com), a leading researcher, developer, manufacturer and service provider for some of the world's most impressive lines of lensescameras and flashes, has been awarded four Hot One Awards from Professional Photographer.

The winning lineup included Sigma’s 105mm F2.8 EX DG OS HSM Macro (Macro Lens category), 120-300mm F2.8 EX DG OS APO HSM (Standard Zoom Lens category), 12-24mm F4.5-5.6 II DG HSM II (Wide Zoom Lens category) and the SD1 (Digital SLR $7,000+ category).

“We released a number of new, upgraded lenses in 2011 that helped to fill gaps in the industry. We’re honored that Professional Photographerhas chosen to recognize four of our products this year,” said Mark Amir-Hamzeh, president of Sigma Corporation of America. “We’re especially proud of our record number of wins this year. We’re constantly trying to improve our lineup to answer photographers’ calls for more variety, and this is a testament to our hard work.”

The Hot One Awards are compiled annually by Professional Photographer. The products chosen represent the most appealing new photographic gear, as chosen by an independent panel of working professional photographer judges. The official list of 2012 winners will be released in the magazine’s March edition.

“With a record number of total entries, the 2012 Hot One Awards were one of the most competitive ever,” said Jeff Kent, editor at large at Professional Photographer. “Any winning companies should be proud of their accomplishment, and companies that took home multiple awards certainly look to be operating at the top of their game."
