Delicious Snapdragon

Nikon/Fuji 150-600mm F5-6.3 DG OS HSM | C 1/250 f/9 2500

My previous successes with the hummingbirds in my yard were with a tripod and manual focus, and lots of patience waiting for them to hover in the right place. However this photo was handheld, and autofocus using the viewfinder on my dslr, using single focus point centered on the eye. The bird was about 5m from the sensor yielding a minuscule depth of field of 3cm. Its a testament to both the accuracy of the autofocus (which I meticulously tuned with the sigma dock) and the optical stabilization. This technique enables much more natural photographs than using the tripod pointing at the feeder.

Crested Hawk-eagle

I was driving through the southern expressway on a sunny morning and all of a sudden saw this proud-looking fellow, stationed itself in a perfect place to look for an early-day's pray. I parked my car and actually though that the Hawk-eagle will fly away by the sudden change, but he was way too calm to abandon his position. He waited there for some more minutes, till I take this portrait.

dry lake bed

Nikon/Fuji 150-600mm F5-6.3 DG OS HSM | C 1/320 8 400

I have photographed at the Trona Pinnacles for over a decade and continue to go back because of the changing aspects of light, season and weather. The sun was setting at this time of day and because of the mountains and angle blocking the sun, the light struck the white of the dry lake bed behind these mountains strategically. This created a silhouette and a white line. The 150-600 offers many more compositional choices. The ease of use and sharpness combine with the excellent IQ to create an important component in the Sigma equipment I use each time I photograph.

This was the first test photo I took with my new Sigma 150-600mm C lens, and I am delighted at the results. Although I am not a "birder," those that are who have seen this photo also like the results. The photo shown was taken without the TC-1401 TC, and was reduced to 25% of its original size (so the original RAW file is much clearer/detailed).

Spot on! I kid you not.

I first borrowed one from a friend, now I bought my own as it was super clear, fast, light and the usb dock is simply a great idea.great for the outdoors catching birds and wildlife from a good distance...giving me great shots without annoying the animals!

Highly recommended to photographers of most levels, afforable and easy to use. I am a long time user of Sigma products and the experience is getting better year after year!
Grazie Sigma! looking forward with the next product!

Terrible
Brand new lens, but OS doesn't work at all, and autofocus is spotty too. Manual focus is exceptionally difficult to use because of the very narrow grip ring, and jumpy/grabby motion when turned slightly to try and make find focus adjustments. Sharp focus seems impossible. Pictures taken with a foreground, mid-range and far background often show that nothing at all is in crisp focus at any range, regardless of what's being focused on. My other Sigma products work fine, but this one is a hugely expensive disappointment in every way.

Fantastic!
I have used this lens two weeks and am so enamored with it! The clarity is so wonderful even at the 600 mm range! I do a lot of nature/wildlife photography, particularly of birds, and you can see the feathers and coloring so distinctly. I am just aggravated at myself for not buying this lens sooner! I bought the contemporary lens as it is a bit lighter than the sports model, and I can hand-hold it. I use it on my Canon 7D, Mark II camera...

Last FIrmware Update from Dec 2015...
Last firmware update from Dec 2015 broke the use of the Canon teleconverters with the Sigma lens. It worked without issue prior to the update, after the update the Canon teleconverter and Sigma lens do not work and just show a communication error in the camera. This is not just my camera - it has been tried with others as well with the same results. Something int he latest firmware broke the ability to use Canon teleconverters.

So far ... it is awesome ...
So far this lens is awesome :) I am using it on my Nikon D750 and it performs wonderful. The first day I got it ... I tested inside the house and it is very clear. I am very happy with this lens.
